A pleasant sunny morning at Sir Bernard Lovell Academy saw students arrive with their supportive families in order to collect examination results. A large number of staff were on hand to offer congratulations as well as advice and guidance to students on the next steps for Post-16 study.

In a year where it was suggested that results might be lower, outcomes at SBL have remained strong at grade 4 with English achieving 80% at grade 4 and 64% at grade 5. Maths achieved 77% at grade 4 and 63% at grade 5. Both subjects continue to provide an excellent grounding for students with good progress also in the full range of Science subjects. We are delighted with the number of students progressing into Post 16 study at SBL Academy as part of Futura Sixth.

A large number of students have achieved high quality outcomes that allow for strong progression into the future. In particular we would want to celebrate the results of the following students who achieved well in this challenging examination series:

Extremely strong progress:

Chloe T, Harry C, Madeline W, Charlie T, Edison G, Will A, Maisie S, Fin D, Ellie-May D, Esme B, Josh H, George S, Cody W.

Outstanding outcomes:

Harry C: 5 x grade 9, Zane J: 5 x grade 9, Ellie May D: 2 x grade 9 and 5 x grade 8

Principal Dean Anderson said: "This has been an outstanding group of young people, very well supported by family, SBL staff, their peers and the wider community. It is a great pleasure to see so many young people this morning who are able to have the full choice of what they can do next in life. As a school we are delighted with this excellent group and wish them all the best in the next phase of their education - they can be very proud of what they have achieved."

Exam certificates from 2022 are now ready for collection. Please collect from main reception between the hours of 10.00 – 15.00 from Thursday, 8th December,2022 - Thursday, 15th December, 2022.

After 15th December, please contact the school to arrange a mutually convenient time to collect.

If you wish someone to collect on your behalf, we require written permission from yourself allowing this arrangement and the designated person must present their ID please.

Please check your certificates carefully and report any errors by 19th December, 2022.
